Project Checklist

Welcome to the Expo Project Checklist page for students, teachers and parents. This page will guide you through the 5 stages of the Design Thinking Process for your Innovation Expo challenge journey. The dates mentioned at each stage are a guide to keep you on track.

A large part of this process is to reflect on what you have learned, as well as how you have developed as a learner. To help you record your thoughts we have created a Reflection Journal, which you can use to record your journey as you complete each stage of the design thinking process.

Stage 1 - Define the Problem
January 30th

Stage 1 of your Design Thinking Process is Define the Problem. This is where you will conduct research on your chosen challenge. Make sure to take enough time to fully understand who and what this problem impacts and why it is important to find a solution.

Once you have completed this stage, remember to record your learning in your Reflection Journal.

Stage 2 - Imagine & Ideate
February 6th

Stage 2 of the Design Thinking Process is Imagine & Ideate. At this point, you will use your creativity to brainstorm potential ideas to make the current situation better.

Once you have completed this stage, remember to record your learning in your Reflection Journal.

Stage 3 - Create & Prototype
February 13th

Stage 3 of the Design Thinking Process is Create & Prototype. This is where you will design your solution and create it.

Stage 4 - Test & Iterate
February 27th

Stage 4 of the Design Thinking Process is Test & Iterate. At this point you will be testing your prototype and seeking feedback from others.

Stage 5 - Reflect & Share Solution
March 20th

Stage 5 of the Design Thinking Process is Reflect & Share. Here, you will reflect on what you have learned and the impact it has had on others, as well as yourself.

Project Submission
Deadline - March 20th

Congratulations! You have finished your project and you’re ready to share your journey.

 

For our Expo this year, we will be using Flip and a Submission Form to showcase your project and your reflection journey. 

The Flip and Form may be completed by individual students, student groups, and staff members presenting on behalf of their students.
